Boy it is HOT!!

It is HOT OUTSIDE!! The Midwest weather is hitting the 100′s this week. Oklahoma, Kansas, and the top of Texas are all frying eggs on the hoods of their cars and trying to stay dry. Some places in the East and West Coast as well like California, Pheonix, Nevada, South and North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania are all requiring fans and mist devices that attach to your shoulders and hang over your face to keep you cool. The thing that is shocking most people is the length of the consistent high heat. If we get hit with 1 or 2 record days in a row then we can prepare and deal with that. But a week or so more, all in a row, people weren’t prepared for that. I’m originally from KC, MO where all my family still lives. My grandmother said that she is scared to even leave the house in this heat. Luckily, she is blessed to have family members around that can get her what she needs but what about the people who don’t? So in times like this we have to make sure we check on the elders and the disabled. Lastly, stay hydrated!
